A SELF-LOVE publication disguised as a FASHION obsession
Hot on Tuesday is an independent digital publication covering fashion, beauty, culture, and, most importantly, the art of becoming more yourself.
Fashion and beauty are a big part of the world we live in, but they’re only part of the picture. Behind the shopping addiction, makeup obsession, and endless beauty rituals are bigger conversations about money, confidence, self-worth and the lives we want for ourselves. Hot on Tuesday brings it all to the same table.
At its heart, it’s about self-love without taking the fun out of life. Looking good, wanting more, reinventing yourself and figuring things out can all exist at once. There’s no formula for any of it, and there certainly isn’t a dress code.
MEET ARLIE STEELE
Hot on Tuesday was created and is written by Montreal-based writer, Arlie Steele.
Arlie has been obsessed with fashion and beauty for as long as she can remember. She spent much of her childhood cutting up magazine pages and covering her room with them. Years working in fashion retail only made the obsession stronger.
Over time, her relationship with fashion and beauty changed. Like many young women, she went through a period where insecurities got the best of her, and every new trend became a way to hide and control how others saw her. Eventually, she learned to see it differently: not as something to hide behind, but as a way to express herself.
That idea sits at the centre of Hot on Tuesday.
Arlie writes about the things she genuinely cares about, from beauty and fashion to money to ambition, and self-worth and personal growth. Much of what she writes is rooted in lessons she wishes she had learned earlier. Hot on Tuesday is, in many ways, a letter to her younger self, with the hope that someone else might find something in it that she needed too.
OUR MISSION
Hot on Tuesday exists to encourage girls to know themselves, choose themselves and build lives that actually belong to them.
We believe self-love is about more than simply feeling good about yourself. It is knowing your own taste, trusting your instincts, recognizing your worth and having the courage to live accordingly. Sometimes that means finding your signature look and buying the shoes you’ve been thinking about for ages. And sometimes it means setting a boundary, changing direction, asking for more or admitting that the life you built no longer feels like yours.
Our Blog is here to make those conversations a little less serious, a lot more honest and, hopefully, much more fun. Through fashion, beauty, culture and real-life conversations, we want to offer a fresh perspective, a little inspiration and a reminder that there is no one right way to have it all figured out.
